West Coast punk vets The Offspring technically turn 40 this year (they formed under the name Manic Subsidal in 1984), their most classic album Smash turns 30 this year (and they’ve been celebrating), and now they’ve announced their 11th album, Supercharged, due October 11 via Concord Records. We’ve teamed up with the band on an exclusive sapphire vinyl variant, and you can pre-order that now in the BV shop while it lasts. It’s limited to 300 copies.
Supercharged is The Offspring’s fourth consecutive album made with producer Bob Rock, and lead single “Make It All Right” finds longtime members Dexter Holland and Noodles working with frequent collaborator Josh Freese on drums. It’s fueled by some power pop-style “ba ba ba”s, and here’s what Dexter has to say about it:
We wanted this record to have pure energy – from the start to the finish! That’s why we called it SUPERCHARGED. From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now. Our single “Make It All Right” is a great example of this because it talks about the people in our lives who make us feel strong when we are feeling low – our partners in crime who make us feel all right.
The album was recorded in three different locations this time around: Maui, Vancouver, and our home studio in Huntington Beach, and together with our producer Bob Rock everything came out awesome. I feel like this is the best we have ever sounded! We’ve been rocking out and headbanging to it for months! And we can’t wait for you guys to hear it!

As you may have heard, The Offspring also performed “Million Miles Away” from 2000’s Conspiracy of One with Ed Sheeran on stage at BottleRock Napa Valley last week (5/29), and you can see video of that below. Ed posted that Conspiracy of One was the first album he ever bought, and he said, “I used to pretend to be in their band in the mirror and sing along to the album when I was 9, mostly to their song Million Miles Away as it was the first song of theirs I heard. I mentioned it in an interview and Noodles / Dexter got in touch with me when we found out we were all playing the same festival, to see if I wanted to get on stage and sing it. It was an instant yes obvz. Really felt like living out a childhood dream thank you for having me up there guys.”
