Having announced a trio of NYC reunion shows and a set at new CA festival No Values, The Dillinger Escape Plan are bringing their reunion to Chicago. They’ll play The Salt Shed Outdoors on Saturday, August 24 with The World Is A Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die and No Men. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 15 at 10 AM CDT, with a venue presale starting Wednesday, March 13 at 10 AM CDT.
Like the NYC shows, the Chicago show celebrates the 25th anniversary of the band’s 1999 debut album Calculating Infinity, featuring founding guitarist Ben Weinman, original vocalist, Dimitri Minakakis (who sings on Calculating Infinity), bassist Liam Wilson (who joined in 2000) and drummer Billy Rymer (who joined in 2008).
“When first announcing the Calculating 25 anniversary show in Brooklyn, we could have never imagined the response,” Weinman writes. “It just goes to show you that the Dillinger Escape Plan is not just a band and of 5 dudes, but a force that embodies so many different elements, including the passion of all of our followers. That said, the announcement of our warm-up set at No Values Fest in Pomona has brought a lot of requests, particularly in reference to us not forgetting about the Midwest. So here you go, folks. Our biggest headline show in history, at one of the coolest new venues in the world!”
