The Acacia Strain vocalist Vincent Bennett has called Albany home since 2009 (he’s originally from Western Massachusetts), and you don’t have to look very hard to realize the veteran hardcore/metal vocalist remains very tapped in to new bands and new scenes. He’s now taken some time to tell us about 5 newer bands from the Albany hardcore/metal scene that he thinks everyone should know, and unless you’re already heavily immersed in the current Albany underground, I have a feeling you’ll find some new music from his list. He also had no lack of interesting insight on each band, and he shouted out some classic Albany bands at the end as well. Watch the video below to see what he had to say.
The Acacia Strain will have some of these newer and classic Albany bands (and other great bands like Fuming Mouth, Gates To Hell, No Cure, Full of Hell, Jivebomb, and more) at their annual Christmas shows, which go down on December 13 & 14 at Empire Live (tickets).
