System Of A Down headlined Las Vegas’ Sick New World festival on Saturday (4/27) with their first set since last year’s Sick New World. They dusted off some relatively rare songs that hadn’t been played in a while (“Bubbles” and “CUBErt” for the first time since 2015, “Kill Rock ‘n Roll” for the first time since 2017, and “Innervision” for the first time since 2019), and also played plenty of their biggest fan faves, like “B.Y.O.B.,” “Chop Suey!,” “Aerials,” “Toxicity,” “Sugar,” and more. They also dedicated “Lonely Day” to Joey Jordison, late drummer of Slipknot, who played right before SOAD. Check out video of SOAD and their setlist below.
System Of A Down’s shows are few and far between these days, but they’ve got one more coming up at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 17 with Deftones, The Mars Volta, Viagra Boys, and VOWWS.
Right before Sick New World, Slipknot played a surprise, intimate show in Pioneertown, which was their first show since parting ways with drummer Jay Weinberg (their new drummer is all but officially confirmed to be former Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande).
