South Carolina hardcore vets Stretch Arm Strong have been playing some select reunion shows these past few years, they did some reissues on Iodine Recordings, and now they’ve just surprise-released their first new music in nearly 20 years. Their new six-song EP The Revealing is out now digitally, with vinyl hitting in May, and we’ve got an exclusive cloudy white w/ green/orange splatter & silkscreened B-side 12″ up for pre-order in the BV shop. The EP was produced by Steve Evetts, who also contributes some additional percussion and piano, and Sick Of It All’s Lou Koller guests on “Take A Stand.” Gang vocals come courtesy of Donna Dempsey, Ryan Dempsey, Jack Dempsey, Kevin Higgins, Mike Salerno, Mike “Smoogs” Smagula, and all of Stretch Arm Strong. It’s been a long time since SAS have released music, but they clearly haven’t lost a step. The Revealing is crisp, melodic hardcore that sounds as energized as SAS did in the late ’90s and early 2000s.
