Thomas Erak, singer and guitar wiz of progressive post-hardcore greats The Fall of Troy, just released the debut album by his new project Thomas Erak & The Ouroboros, (AU), on Equal Vision, and he’s also got a new video for its song “DCLXVI (666)” directed by another progressive post-hardcore wizard, Jesse Korman of The Number 12 Looks Like You. The song finds Erak leaning even more overtly into proggy territory than he did on those classic Fall of Troy records, and the video–in classic Jesse Korman fashion–is pretty damn creepy. Jesse and Thomas say:
Jesse Korman: Collaborating with Thomas for his new video felt like playing Jenga with lightning — unstable, thrilling, and totally worth it. From filming outside in the blistering cold NYC alleyways to turning my studio into a porn set, there was never a dull moment.
Thomas Erak: When I wanted to make a ‘narrative-only’ video, Jesse was the guy that came to mind without question as the one to lead the charge. He absolutely killed the video; I couldn’t have asked for more. He definitely went the extra mile and I can’t wait for what the future holds and all the projects we have brewing in the future.
