Spinal Tap II: Then End Continues will be in theaters on September 12 and they’ve now announced details of the soundtrack album which will be out the same day. The album features nine new songs and four Tap classics, with contributions from Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood. There’s also a track titled “I Kissed a Girl” but no word on whether that is an original or a cover of either Katy Perry or Jill Sobule’s song of the same name. We shall see.
One of those oldies is “Stonehenge,” which of course features heavily in Spinal Tap lore, due to a production error that resulted in a very small Stonehenge prop for their stage show. As you see briefly in the trailer for The End Continues, here they perform it live with Sir Elton John and a cast of dancing druids in front of a big audience of adoring fans. (This scene, which looks to come late in the film, may count as spoiler territory.) They’ve shared that scene from the film and you can watch that below.
