Las Vegas festival Sick New World has announced its 2025 edition, happening on Saturday, April 12 at Las Vegas Festival Grounds. Metallica, as they announced last month, are one of the headliners, and the lineup also includes Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age, AFI, Ministry, The Sisters of Mercy, Gojira, Acid Bath, The Flaming Lips, Glassjaw, Meshuggah, Melvins, Testament, Mastodon, Cannibal Corpse, Refused, Terror, The Hives, X, Poison the Well, Exodus, Quicksand, Sponge, Scowl, Show Me The Body, Napalm Death, Three Days Grace, and more. For the Mike Patton-lead supergroup Tomahawk, it’s their first-announced show in over a decade, following the comeback album, Tonic Immobility, that they put out during Covid lockdown. It’s also the first-announced show for influential sludge metal pioneers Acid Bath since their 1997 breakup.
The festival falls during Refused’s final tour, which is with Quicksand. It’s also part of X’s continued goodbye; they’re in the midst of their farewell tour now.
Sick New World is the first 2025 date announced for Linkin Park’s new lineup with Emily Armstrong. It’s also part of the continued reunion of The Sisters of Mercy, whose first show back was at the festival’s 2023 edition. For Queens of the Stone Age, it’s one of the first few 2025 dates they’ve announced after cancelling 2024 shows while Josh Homme received “essential medical care.” For Three Days Grace, it follows the announcement of their reunion with original singer Adam Gontier.
