Sepultura announced late last year that they’ll be breaking up after a 40th anniversary farewell tour, and now they’ve announced the North American leg of that tour for this fall. Dubbed ‘Celebrating Life Through Death,’ it finds the band joined by death metal OGs Obituary, New York Hardcore pioneers Agnostic Front, and Sepultura’s long-running Brazilian neighbors Claustrofobia. An artist presale is underway now, and the general public on-sale begins Friday (6/7) at 10 AM local.
The tour kicks off in Chicago on September 17, and wraps up in NYC on October 12 at Palladium Times Square. All dates are listed below.
Sepultura’s lineup for the farewell tour includes guitarist Andreas Kisser and bassist Paulo Jr, who have both been with the band since the ’80s, as well as vocalist Derrick Green (who joined in 1997) and new 21-year-old drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who just took over for Eloy Casagrande (who joined in 2011 and just left to join Slipknot).
