Massachusetts punks Restraining Order have announced their third album, Future Fortune. It comes out on September 12 via Blue Grape (the new label from ex-Roadrunner folks that’s also home to Code Orange, Superheaven, Gel, Fugitive, Gridiron, and more), following two LPs for Triple B. Restraining Order are in the current hardcore scene, but unlike most of their peers, their music reaches back to the very early days of when hardcore first grew out of first-wave punk, and there’s some street punk and Oi! in their mix too. The album’s lead single “Know Not” also sounds a little bit like RO’s past tourmates Fucked Up.
“‘Know Not’ takes on the simple yet hard to grasp mission in life,” says vocalist Pat Cozens. “That we must keep moving forward. Life will always be confusing but we all know deep down what we have to do to be our best. It’s never easy, never will be, so we’ve all got to hold ourselves accountable to get to where we want to be. It also continues a constant theme of this band and in my lyrics. We must keep striving to get ahead of life, especially in a world that’s always multiple steps ahead of you.”

Restraining Order also announced a few Northeast record release shows: Amherst, MA’s The Drake on 9/11, Hamden, CT’s Space Ballroom on 9/12, and Long Island’s Massapequa VFW on 9/13.
