Olympia and Oakland-based heavy music duo Ragana have announced a new album, Desolation’s Flower, due October 27 via The Flenser, marking their first LP for the label (pre-order). The album was engineered by Nicholas Wilbur, and its first single is the eight-and-a-half minute title track. It’s a climactic dose of post-black metal that the band calls “a hymn of gratitude for queer and trans ancestors, known or unknown, by blood or affinity, whose joy and survival make our lives possible, and whose memory inspires and helps us resist the tide of increasingly visible hatred and oppression.” Check it out below.
