At their recent NYC show opening for Refused and Quicksand, the current iteration of NYC post-hardcore pioneers Orange 9mm–with the ever-charismatic vocalist Chaka Malik accompanied by guitarist Taylor McLam (who joined during the making of their 1996 sophomore album Tragic) and new members Chris Enriquez (On the Might of Princes, Spotlights) on drums and Cory Bonfiglio on bass–debuted a new song called “Turn It Up.” Now they’ve released the studio version of the song. On Instagram, the band writes:

It’s a groovy, funk-infused, post-hardcore/alt-metal song that’s cut from the same cloth as Orange 9mm’s classic ’90s material, and you can hear it below.
Orange 9mm are also contributing a new version of “Pretend I’m Human” to Iodine Recordings’ upcoming The Dogs of Hope compilation, which raises money for a no-kill animal shelter in rural Alabama and also features new and previously unreleased music from Snapcase, Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, etc), Alex Skolnick (Testament), Killswitch Engage, Jeromes Dream, Deadguy, Enforced, and more, with 13 of its 14 tracks being exclusive to the compilation. You can pick up our exclusive cloudy blue splatter vinyl variant (limited to 100), of which all proceeds go to Wedowee, Alabama’s Randolph County Animal Shelter.
Orange 9mm also play one of the two Rich Hall benefit shows in Brooklyn this week, the one happening Friday (6/13) at Warsaw with From Autumn To Ashes, Harvest, Kiss It Goodbye, Skycamefalling, and more.
