After teasing the announcement, Goldenvoice, who started out as some of of the West Coast’s biggest punk promoters in the 1980s before they became the AEG-owned company behind Coachella, have officially announced their new punk festival, No Values. It happens on Saturday, June 8 at Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, CA, and tickets go on sale Friday, February 23 at 11 AM PT.
As the teaser made it seem, there are plenty of classic punk bands, including headliners the Misfits and Social Distortion, but there are also a lot of great comparatively newer acts like Turnstile, Joyce Manor, Ceremony, Viagra Boys, Scowl, Soul Glo, MSPAINT, and more, as well as a rare date from the newly-reunited Dillinger Escape Plan and the first officially announced Power Trip show since Riley Gale’s death.
There’s also a ska section with Fishbone, The Aquabats, The Selecter, Hepcat, The Untouchables, and The Skeletones, and still more, including Iggy Pop, Bad Religion, Sublime, The Damned, Suicidal Tendencies, The Vandals, T.S.O.L., The Jesus Lizard, Exploited, Fear, L7, Agent Orange, Adolescents, The Lawrence Arms, The Bronx, Cro-Mags, and even more. Power Trip (who will be fronted by Fugitive/Skourge’s Seth Gilmore) also say they have more shows on the way. The Dillinger Escape Plan (who are back with Calculating Infinity vocalist Dimitri Minakakis) are otherwise only playing three NYC shows (at which they’ll be playing Calculating Infinity in full), and they clarified that they won’t be playing the full album at No Values. They say:Dear West Coast DEP fans…. We have been getting a lot of messages from people on the West Coast who are unable to make it to our Calculating 25 shows. So here you go, guys! When first asked to play the new @goldenvoice #novalues festival, we initially said no. But then we realized what an amazing opportunity this was to not only do a really special warm-up show for our West Coast family, but also to be part of one of the most epic lineups of all time. Truly historical. We did, however, want to announce that we will not be doing our full calculating infinity anniversary set, nor will we have the limited merch, and rare #Dillingerescapeplan memorabilia available until the Brooklyn Paramount shows. This will, however, be an opportunity to see us shake off the rust and maybe even perform a few early tracks we won’t be playing in NY. Any requests?Meanwhile, The Exploited also announced that they’ll play Brooklyn Monarch on September 17.
