Nails have finally, officially announced their long-teased first album in eight years, Every Bridge Burning, due August 30 via Nuclear Blast. Pre-order it on forest green vinyl in the BV shop. Band leader Todd Jones made it with the new lineup of drummer Carlos Cruz (Warbringer), bassist Andrew Solis (Despise You, Apparition), and guitarist Shelby Lermo (Ulthar), and it was produced by Kurt Ballou and features artwork by Jef Whitehead.
The first single and opening track is the grindy, 82-second scorcher “I Don’t Want To Know You,” which Todd Jones says “is special to the record in that I knew we wanted it to be the opener. We wanted it to have the effect of an urgency; an immediacy in the music itself. When you push play, you get smacked in the face.” Push play and get smacked in the face below.
Nails have also announced tour dates, including a run with 200 Stab Wounds, Mammoth Grinder, and Tribal Gaze. That epic four-band bill becomes an epic five-band bill at Brooklyn Monarch on September 20 with Stabbed. All dates are listed below.
That tour includes New England Metal & Hardcore Fest, and it marks Mammoth Grinder’s first shows in six years. 200 Stab Wounds also have a new album, Manual Manic Procedures, coming out later this month (6/28). Tribal Gaze released one of our favorite metal albums of 2022 with The Nine Choirs.
