Comedian Bert Kreischer had Maynard James Keenan on his Bertcast podcast, and among his questions for the Tool frontman was… what his favorite tool is. Has anyone asked Maynard that before? I guess not! Kreischer said that the question was on behalf of his daughter in college, a “huge fan” of Keenan’s, and called it “the dumbest question in the world,” prompting laughter from Keenan, who answered, “a battery-operated pneumatic nail gun,” continuing, “I remember when it was like a canister and it would clog up, and get all fucked up. The newer ones had like… you can charge the battery and [makes nail gun sounds.] You can get some shit done.” He added, “does that answer your fucking question?”

Tool are throwing their first-ever destination festival Live In The Sand, next year, and they’ll play a few shows in Mexico after that, and then the South American editions of Lollapalooza. Maynard will also be on tour with Primus and two of his non-Tool projects, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, in April, May, and June.
