With its 2026 edition, which happened, as usual, over Memorial Day weekend, Maryland Deathfest has wasted no time in announced their initial lineup for next year. It’ll be the festival’s 22nd annual edition, and happens on May 27-30 at Market Place, Power Plant Live, Nevermore Hall, Soundstage, and Angels Rock Bar.
The first confirmed bands for 2027 include Akercocke (playing Choronzon in full), Ancient Death (whose 2025 album topped many year end lists, including ours, but who barely play any shows), Candlemass, Cerebral Effusion, Ceremonium, Coscradh, Cruciamentum, Demolition Hammer, Enslaved (playing 1994’s Vikingligr Veldi in full), Exhumed (playing Gore Metal in full), Fleshless, Funebrarum (whose great new album Beckoning the Void of Eternal Silence came out Friday), Gorerotted, Ingrowing, Naglfar, Obscura, One of Nine, Sabbat, Sadistic Intent, Saturnus, Thulcandra, Voivod (playing “old school deep cuts”), and Vreid. Over 70 more artists are still to be announced.
