Kylesa went on indefinite hiatus back in 2016, and they just announced that they’ll return to the stage in 2025! Their reunion will begin at Roadburn 2025, followed by “a limited number of special shows” that celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary. “We have so much more to tell you about over the coming months & we can’t wait to see you out there,” they say. The note is signed by co-singer/guitarists Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants. No word yet on who else will be in the band’s lineup at the reunion shows.
The band also revealed back in June that they’ve teamed with Mythos Management and are working on “some uniquely cool projects for the future and on ways to preserve our past — excited to share more on it moving forward.” Stay tuned for more on that too.
Roadburn goes down April 17-20 in The Netherlands and they also announced today that Chat Pile and Altın Gün are playing too.
In the time since Kylesa broke up, Philip reunited Damad, Laura launched a new band called The Discussion, and members contributed to various other projects. Earlier this year, Laura lent her voice to Slayer-covering doom supergroup Slower.
Kylesa also recently reissued their 2002 self-titled debut album and we’ve got an exclusive clear w/ black smoke vinyl variant available in the BV shop.
