Black Sabbath‘s “final” show is this Saturday (7/5) in Birmingham’s Villa Park (one day after the Oasis reunion tour begins in the same country), and the lineup is also stacked with other metal and hard rock legends, including a solo set from Ozzy Osbourne (who will apparently only be doing “bits and pieces” with Sabbath at the show), Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Anthrax, and more. One band not on the bill is Judas Priest (though former guitarist K.K. Downing is set to make an appearance), but Priest did decide to honor Sabbath ahead of the show by releasing an official, studio-recorded cover of “War Pigs,” along with a music video of the band performing the track on stage.
“We are honored to show our love for Ozzy and Black Sabbath with our homage to ‘War Pigs’ – A song we play at every show around the world that fans sing along to – reinforcing their love as well for the legendary Prince of Darkness….!!,” Judas Priest says, referencing the fact that “War Pigs” has been their walkout song at concerts since 2011.
