Full of Hell have announced a new album, Coagulated Bliss, due April 26 via Closed Casket Activities (pre-order). It was produced by Kevin Bernsten and mixed by Taylor Young. According to the album description, the title party reflects the way that the over-pursuit of happiness can lead to misery. “Your happiness is just out of reach and you don’t know why,” says vocalist Dylan Walker. “Too much of this bliss, you think you’ve found your endpoint, but it’s really just this small, tiny, little thing that’s going to ruin your fucking life. And that could be anything.”
The album follows collaborative LPs with Nothing and The Body, and guitarist Spencer Hazard cites those experiences as helping the band to “[learn] how to find what actually services a song” and “recognize that there was value in pop music,” respectively, and Coagulated Bliss aims to apply those lessons to the band’s extreme, abrasive music. Lead single “Doors to Mental Agony” is a great example of this–it’s 96 seconds of chaotic, discordant, harshly shrieked fury that manages to be pretty damn catchy, all things considered. Full of Hell are gearing up to begin a tour supporting Dying Fetus, alongside Kruelty and 200 Stab Wounds, including NJ’s Starland Ballroom on April 26. They also play LA’s Sound & Fury festival. All dates are listed below.
