Faith No More haven’t released a new album since 2015’s Sol Invictus and haven’t played live since 2016, but hopefully that will change next year. Today the band blanked their social media pages with their logo in front of a picture of a live show audience and number: 2027.
What will that mean? Given the crowd in the photo, probably some touring next year. Touring industry trade magazine Pollstar reports that Faith No More signed a global touring deal with Brazilian promoter 30e, who also have a similar deal with System of a down. Tim Moss, FNM’s manager, told Pollstar, “Faith No More has never followed a conventional path, and that’s exactly why this partnership with 30e makes sense. They bring a fresh perspective, real strategic depth, and the kind of global ambition that aligns with the band’s vision. What matters most is that they understand how to build something meaningful around the band without compromising what makes Faith No More unique.”
FNM were supposed to play shows in 2021, as were Mike Patton’ other band Mr Bungle, but those dates were canceled, with Patton sharing a statement that read in part, “Sorry to report that due to mental health reasons, I cannot continue with the currently scheduled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle dates. I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now.”
