Chelsea Wolfe released her first single for Loma Vista, “Dusk,” in September, and now she’s revealed it’s the final track on a new album. She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She, her seventh solo album, is due out on February 9 via her new label home. She worked on it with regular collaborators Ben Chisholm, Jess Gowrie, and Bryan Tulao, along with producers Dave Andrew Sitek and Shawn Everett, and engineer Heba Kadry. “Itʼs a record about the past self reaching out to the present self reaching out to the future self to summon change, growth, and guidance,” she says. “Itʼs a story of freeing yourself from situations and patterns that are holding you back in order to become self-empowered. Chelsea has shared the second single off the album, “Whispers in the Echo Chamber,” a heavy, industrial track with haunting, ethereal vocals. George Gallardo Kattah directed the accompanying video, and Chelsea says, “It feels like a love story between myself and my sleep paralysis entity, who, for the sake of this video, represents a calm inner voice cutting through mental chatter and anxiety to help guide me towards a more authentic path. From the inward to the outward, this entity shows me the expansiveness of new possibilities, if only Iʼll take the first difficult steps.” Watch it below.
Chelsea’s tour with Divide and Dissole begins in February, and includes NYC shows at Warsaw on March 12 and Bowery Ballroom on March 13. See all dates below.
Chelsea has also been added to the lineup of Roadburn 2024, which happens on April 18-21 in Tilburg, Netherlands. Other new additions include The Jesus and Mary Chain, Lankum, clipping, Hexvessel (performing their most recent album, Polar Veil, in full), Agriculture (making their European debut), Fluisteraars (playing their second show ever), Cloakroom, Dödsrit, and Devil Master. They’ve also announced the first commissioned performance for 2024, from Hexvessel’s Mat McNerney, called Music for Gloaming: A Nocturne by the Hexvessel Folk Assembly.
They join previously announced band Khanate (members of Sunn O))), Blind Idiot God, and OLD) who will be playing their first show in 19 years at the festival. Four-day tickets to Roadburn are on sale now.
