Brittany Howard remains very busy. The Alabama Shakes, Thunderbitch, and Bermuda Triangle member released her sophomore solo album What Now this year, and now she revealed she has another new project, a hardcore band called Kumite. Kumite will make its live debut at a Nashville hardcore/punk show curated by Brittany that also features Snõõper, Inner Peace, and Second Spirit. It goes down on January 12 at Basement East. Brittany says:

I am bringing you a night of HARDCORE music featuring the incredible @snooper_7, @innerpeaceforever, & @secondspirithxc as well as the debut performance of my hardcore project KUMITE. All proceeds from the show will go to these wonderful local organizations @2harvestmidtn, @nashvillelaunchpad, & @southernmovementco. Stoked to share how y’all can get involved with one or more of these organizations that are helping our local community. And remember, it’s hardcore as f*ck to community organize!
