Rising Cleveland death metallers 200 Stab Wounds have announced their sophomore album, Manual Manic Procedures, due June 28 via Metal Blade (pre-order). It was produced and mixed by Andy Nelson and mastered by Brad Boatwright, and it comes with gory album art that depicts “radical surgery on somebody who may or may not be conscious.”
The first taste is opening track “Hands of Eternity,” which finds the band getting a little slower and cleaner than usual, without toning down their usual death metal madness. “That song is a good example of where we want to go musically,” says vocalist/guitarist Steve Buhl. “The heavy riffs are there, but there’s still a lot of good melody. It’s not just crazy fucking blast beats and, ‘riff riff riff.’ It’s more structured, groovy, and melodic, but still heavy.” It comes with a video and you can check that out below.
On Thursday (4/25), 200 Stab Wounds will being a tour supporting Dying Fetus, alongside Full of Hell (whose new album is out this week) and Kruelty. That hits NJ’s Starland Ballroom on Friday (4/26). All dates are listed below.
