Connecticut metalcore band 100 Demons have announced their first album in over 20 years. Embrace the Black Light, their third LP, is due out June 5 via Closed Casket Activities. It was written by Pete Morcey, Rich Rosa, Rick Brayall and Jeremy Braddock, with Sean Martin rejoining the group to replace the late Erik Barrett on bass. Greg Thomas produced and recorded it, and Colin and Taylor Young of Twitching Tongues and God’s Hate feature on it. See the cover art and tracklist below.
“Writing and recording Embrace the Black Light was an experience like no other,” Morcey says. “We were able to take our time and carefully craft every single song on this release. Working with Greg Thomas and Chris Teti at Silver Bullet made us realize we would not have been able to do this record without them. And with the guidance of Justin from Closed Casket Activities, we know they brought out the best of us on every level.”
The first single is “Meat for the Beast.” Morcey says, “As with most of the songs on Embrace the Black Light, ‘Meat for the Beast’ was written and formulated in the studio during the last year. We mixed in a couple styles on this one blending 80s thrash metal and heavy pounding hardcore to give it the signature 100 Demons sound.” Listen below.
