Young Thug turned 27 yesterday, and he celebrated his birthday and the release of his new compilation Slime Language at Dave & Buster’s in Hollywood, where he was reportedly arrested for felony gun possession.
Pitchfork points to an ABC7 report, which reads: “The hip-hop artist remained in custody hours after he and several other people were detained around midnight at the Hollywood and Highland Center, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed. The charge against the rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, was not immediately disclosed.”
The Blast adds, “one of Thug’s cars bumped a squad car belonging to the police department. During a subsequent search, several guns were found, including an AK-47. One of the cars was a Rolls Royce.”
Stay tuned for any updates.
Young Thug is scheduled to resume touring with J Cole soon, including his MSG show this October.
