New York Hardcore and New York’s boom bap-era hip hop devotees have (once again) been joining forces. Mindforce recently played NYC shows with Meyhem Lauren and DJ Paul, the former of which also featured Combust and rapcore torch-carriers Gridiron, and Rome Streetz appears on the new Combust album. Now, as Lambgoat points out, rapper Westside Gunn, who runs the label Griselda Records (that Rome Streetz is signed to), has revealed that he’s involvement with a hardcore band called Dissension. He doesn’t say much about the band or link to their social media, but we did some digging and we were able to confirm that it’s the veteran Long Beach hardcore band, who formed back in 1984. He posted a minute-long video of the band’s song “Black Hole” and wrote:

The man in the video, as Westside Gunn points out, is video creator Oyat Otto, a former prisoner who went viral for posting videos of himself moshing and singing along to hardcore and metal songs in his prison cell. It’s not 100% clear what WSG’s involvement with Dissension is, but one thing is 100% clear: this shit rips. Check it out:
