The BET Awards happened last night, and the ceremony began with a surprise performance by Beyonce. She played her charged-up Lemonade standout “Freedom,” and like at Citi Field (and other stops on her tour), she performed it with her dancers in a pool of water. This time though, Kendrick Lamar rose up from beneath the floor to perform his verse and eventually join Bey in the pool. The whole thing is pretty amazing (especially as far as televised musical performances go), and you can see it for yourself below.
