Before the legendary Prodigy‘s untimely death, he and his Mobb Deep partner Havoc were out on the Art of Rap Tour. The tour kicked off at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Saturday (6/17), which now will sadly go down as the last-ever Mobb Deep show. In honor of Prodigy’s life, career, and timeless contributions to music, watch some videos of that show below.
The Vegas show also had Ice T, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, DJ Chuck Chillout, Ghostface Killah, Lovebug Starski, Onyx, and Raekwon. The next stop of the tour is in Newark at the NJPAC on Friday, June 30 with DMX, Raekwon, Ghostface, DJ Chuck Chillout 050 Boyz, Harlem 6, and Mysonne (tickets). Mobb Deep would have played that stop and the Detroit stop in September too. They were also billed for HARD Summer. Prodigy also would have played Harlem Arts Fest this weekend.
No word yet if Havoc will still play the Newark show or if any type of tribute for Prodigy will go down at it, but stay tuned. Ghostface and Ice T were among the many artists to post a tribute to Prodigy today:
