Oakland rapper Kamaiyah was arrested at Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport after reportedly refusing to take off “headgear” when going through a TSA checkpoint, according to TMZ. TMZ writes that Kamaiyah was told by TSA that she couldn’t fly without removing the article she had on her head, “so it could be inspected.” The rapper “wasn’t having it and reportedly flew into a tirade. She was eventually handcuffed and escorted out of the airport. Her bond was set at $5,000.” She’s reportedly “facing charges of interfering with police and second-degree breach of peace.”
Kamaiyah’s 2016 debut mixtape A Good Night in the Ghetto was one of our favorite albums of 2017. She followed it with 2017’s Before I Wake mixtape and her anticipated debut album is expected to arrive via Interscope at some point in the hopefully near future.
