The Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA is touring this year, including a few dates with the comparatively newer New York hip hop staple Meyhem Lauren. One of his shows (without Meyhem Lauren) happens in his hometown on March 5 at SOB’s. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
Much sooner, you can see the RZA in NYC at his City Winery show this Saturday (2/18). He’s promising a bunch of guests, but those are still TBA. Tickets are still available.
Wu-Tang have also added more shows to their schedule, which already included day two (6/3) of Governors Ball, the same day as Phoenix, Rae Sremmurd, A$AP Ferg, YG, and more; and an Anaheim show in March. Around the same time as that Anaheim show, they’ll also play Santa Ana, San Diego, and Hollywood. They’re also headlining a new Bangkock festival in May. Updated dates are listed below.
In other Wu-Tang news, a judge dismissed the libel lawsuit that Marques Andre Johnson (aka Andre Roxx) filed for being falsely identified by media as the rapper who cut off his penis and jumped off a building. The actual person who did this was Christ Bearer (real name Andre Johnson).
The widely-hated Martin Shkreli was saying he’d play the unreleased Wu-Tang music he bought at Webster Hall, but that event has been cancelled following controversy.
Instrumental soul band El Michels Affair are releasing another Wu-Tang covers album in April. Stream a track featuring Lee Fields and The Shacks here.
