Here we go: Coachella has just announced its 2019 lineup. Visual artist Weirdcore teased Aphex Twin’s Coachella slot before it was announced. It’ll be his third U.S. show in eleven years – the last two were Houston’s Day for Night festival in 2016, and Coachella 2008.
Both Tame Impala and Childish Gambino have been teasing new albums for a while. Do headlining Coachella slots mean 2019 will finally be the year they see the light of day?
For Ariana Grande, this is part of her massive 2019 world tour which also includes four arena shows in NYC.
Most people know Idris Elba from his acting roles, including Stringer Bell in The Wire, John Luther in Luther, and various Marvel films, but he’s also a musician and DJ, and he runs his own record label, 7Wallace Music.
As we posted earlier, Kanye West, who was rumored to headline, allegedly dropped off the lineup because of disagreements with Goldenvoice over his stage setup. Justin Timberlake, who was also previously rumored to headline, rescheduled tour dates after suffering damaged vocal cords, and isn’t on the lineup, either.
This year marks the festival’s 20th anniversary, and happens the consecutive weekends of April 12-14 and April 19-21 at Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. Presale tickets are sold out, but additional passes go on sale Friday, January 4 at 11 AM PT.
