Biggie officially gets Brooklyn block named after him (pics, videos)

As mentioned, the block at St. James Place between Gates Avenue and Fulton Street was to officially be renamed in honor of The Notorious B.I.G., who grew up in the neighborhood, and the renaming happened yesterday (6/10). The Brooklyn Nets posted the above Instagram with a picture of the street sign and a video of the unveiling of the Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Way sign (click the right arrow to see the video). As ABC7NY points out, Lil’ Kim and Biggie’s mother both spoke at the ceremony:

“A lot of love I see displayed out her for my son,” [Voletta Wallace] told a large crowd gathered in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn Monday to honor the rapper’s memory.

[…] “I’m sure he’d use some of his saying: ‘Yo, that’s cool, Brooklyn. We did it!’ Maybe this sign and the crowds here today will show they really loved him,” she said.

[…] “He always had a vision,” said rapper Lil’ Kim. “And I feel like today was part of his vision.”

ABC7NY also posted full video of the ceremony and you can see that below…
