Simian Mobile Disco are back with new album Welcome to Sideways which will be out November 11 via their own Delicacies label. That’s the cover art above. Following 2014’s improvisational/experimental Whorl, the new one aims firmly back towards the dancefloor. Says SMD’s James Ford:
We realize that from an outsider point of view, it can seem like we change quite radically with every album we do but from our point of view it always feels like a smooth transition. Hopefully people who have stuck with us this long, and appreciate the fact that we aren’t trying to repeat ourselves with every album, will enjoy another slight turn sideways.
In addition to the nine-track LP, there will be a digital bonus of the whole album as a continuous mix, with other pieces and edits worked in. The LP, which includes 12″ techno singles the band have released this year, will be proceeded by new single “Faraway From a Distance” which you can listen to, while checking out the LP tracklist, below:
