In celebration of the current musical journey that she’s on, Poppy has made us a list of her favorite electronic albums, which range from Nicolas Jaar to The Haxan Cloak to Laurel Halo and beyond. The Haxan Cloak – Excavation
I discovered Haxan Cloak via my driver the first time I went to Germany. I was laying down in the back of the van nauseous while this played. I felt out of body but I asked the driver later what he was playing while I was trying to keep it together. Ha
John Talabot – Fin
I was playing this record on repeat while I took a trip solo to the desert. It was 115 Fahrenheit that weekend so that’s what I think of when I listen now.
Jonsi – Obsidian
Ali and I are both Jonsi fans. He introduced me when we got together for our first session and when I am alone in nature it’s the perfect soundtrack.
Laurel Halo – Possessed
This record is one I listen to while on the airplane.
Nicolas Jaar – Space Is Only Noise
I came across Nicolas Jaar about seven years ago and was hooked. The drop in “Space Is Only Noise” is so satisfying- I return to the record over and over.
Selofan – Partners In Hell
This was a *late night stumble find*.
Venetian Snares – Your Face
This is one of my favorite albums. I return to often. It makes me drive fast in my car.
Blawan – Woke Up Right Handed
I was very inspired by this record. This was another late night stumble find.
