Last week, Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful announced that they would “hit pause” on throwing a festival for 2024, “for a number of reasons,” and that they were “hard at work reimagining and evolving the festival experience for the sake of you, the fans, and the incredible community that surrounds us.” They also said that this year, they’d be throwing a two-day block party, on September 27 and 28 in Downtown Las Vegas, and they’ve now revealed the lineup for that. It features LCD Soundsystem, Justice, Peggy Gou, Jamie xx, JUNGLE, James Blake, Thundercat, Toro y Moi, BadBadNotGood, Neil Frances, LP Giobbi, Empress Of, John Talabot, and FIFI. Tickets go on sale Thursday, June 27 at 10 AM PT, and you can register to get access to a presale starting the same day at 9 AM PT.
They’re promising no overlapping sets for the block party, and say that it’s “not intended to replace the festival.” “For now,” a statement from organizers reads, “it gives us the opportunity to continue the annual tradition of gathering in Downtown Las Vegas to uplift one another, to express ourselves, and to connect. In time, the two will coexist.”
