Jamie xx has announced he’s bringing his ‘The Floor’ club residencies to NYC and L.A., and bringing them soon. Each residency is five nights with special unannounced guests: NYC happens July 23 – 27 in Bushwick (venue TBA) and L.A. is July 31 – August 3 in DTLA (venue TBA). Tickets for go on sale Wednesday, July 17 at 12 PM noon local time.
Says Jamie xx: “For years I’ve been dreaming of opening my own club, a place that represents my experiences in the best of London’s underground club scene; the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound…. We debuted this concept in London at Venue MOT for 10-nights in May and I’m excited to announce we’ll bring The Floor to Brooklyn and Los Angeles for 5-nights in each city this month. See you on The Floor.”
The London residency featured such guests as Charli XCX and George Daniel, Romy, Daphni, 2ManyDJs, John Glacier, Jockstrap, Axel Boman, Two Shell, Yu Su, Lil Silva, MJ Cole, DJ Python and more. Jamie says, “As with The Floor in London, each venue and line up will be specially curated to represent the best in the local scene and my love for both these cities.”
How big will these venues be? You’ll only know if you buy a ticket, but London’s MOT was a 300-capacity club.
Right before these residencies, Jamie xx will be in Chicago for this weekend’s Pitchfork Fest. His new album is out in September.
