Jamie xx began the North American leg of his tour supporting last year’s In Waves, his first solo album in nine years, earlier this month with 4 shows at Park Avenue Armory. He’s now announced that he’ll return to NYC in the summer, where he’ll headline Under the K Bridge on August 2. You can sign up to access tickets early on presale now, and any remaining tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 7 at 10 AM EST.
Jamie says he’ll be “curating a special lineup with some of my favourite people” for the show – stay tuned for more details on that. He also just released a new single, “F.U.,” that’s a sort-of collaboration with Erykah Badu. “A few years ago, I was playing at a Primavera afterparty in Barcelona with Erykah Badu,” he says. “The decks stopped working and she just freestyled this incredible acapella performance, fully improvised, just her and the mic. I managed to record a bit of that, and it became the basis for the track. We connected about it when I was finishing the album and it became a track I really love.” Hear it below.
