“The Muppets Script” is an ongoing series where classic Muppets movie scripts are read — and sung! — live in front of an audience by a cast of current comedy stars, with proceeds going to charity. The latest event will be “The Muppets Take Scripthattan” at Brooklyn’s The Bell House on October 24, and if it wasn’t clear, they’ll be doing a live script read of 1984’s The Muppets Take Manhattan.
Participating performers are a Who’s Who of comedy/improv/podcasts, including Paul F. Tompkins, Murray Hill, Marc Evan Jackson, Nina West, Griffin Newman, James Monroe Iglehart, John Hodgman, Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, Oscar Montoya, Mark Gagliardi, Hal Lublin, Janet Varney, Loosey LaDuca, David Burtka, Aaron Chen, and Leslie Carrara-Rudolph. And yes, they do the songs, too. Proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.
