Cole Escola, who you may know from scene-stealing roles in Search Party, Hacks, Difficult People and At Home With Amy Sedaris, has written and will star in Off-Broadway play Oh, Mary! at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from January 26 – March 24. Tickets are on sale.

Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy starring Cole Escola as a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires abound in this one act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln through the lens of an idiot (Cole Escola).
If you’re familiar with Cole’s YouTube channel, this seems sounds like prime material for them. Additional casting is still to be announced but Oh, Mary! is directed by Sam Pinkleton.
