Reverend Billy (aka Bill Talen) has been preaching on the evils of consumerism, and the dangerous state of the world’s environment, for over 20 years. He and his Stop Shopping Gospel Choir, who regularly hold service at Joe’s Pub, will release a new album, The Earth Wants You, on Earth Day (4/22). We’ve got the premiere of “Fabulous Bad Weather,” which takes on climate change and the effects of Katrina and Sandy, and you can listen to that below.
Also on Earth Day, Rev. Billy will release The Earth Wants You, the book, and you can watch a trailer for that below. He’ll also be going on a North American book tour (some dates with The Earth Wants You Band), which stops at Brooklyn’s Community Bookstore on May 17 (no band for that one).
