Title Fight / PBTT / skaters

Among the many SXSW shows last week was the killer Converse x Thrasher Death Match day party on Wednesday (3/18) where we caught Title Fight, Pianos Become the Teeth, Iceage, Pity Sex and Death Valley Girls. (It also featured Creepoid and All Eyes West, who we missed.) Both Title Fight and Pianos Become the Teeth are supporting albums that are less heavy than their earlier material, and while the old songs unsurprisingly got the most amount of moshing going on, their sets sounded great throughout.
Before them it was the dark punk of Iceage and the shoegaze of Pity Sex, and a band I was seeing for my first time, Death Valley Girls. Their punked up garage rock with a little psych and two charismatic frontwomen made for one of the more memorable sets I saw all week.
PBTT, Iceage, Pity Sex and Creepoid all played BV parties too. Creepoid pics from BV here, and the others coming soon. More pictures from Converse x Thrasher below…
